Workers Compensation (also referred to as Employers Liability Insurance) is designed to protect you and your employees when they suffer an on-the-job accident. Some states require Workers Compensation and some states don’t. While Texas doesn’t require businesses to have it (this is known as self-insuring), most companies that businesses subcontract with require businesses to have it. This is one of the most important coverages to have if you own a business with employees, to mitigate you from liability in the event you are ever sued.
